Descrizione
Starting from Pedemonte, on asphalt, you head towards Ricciano Crebbia. Once in Casale Corte Cerro, where there is the Sanctuary of Gethsemane, built in 1950 by Luigi Gedda, you take the direction of the villages Tanchello, Montebuglio (the circle of Montebuglio is famous for its excellent quality cuisine), Gattugno, Cranna. You reach the industrial area of Crusinallo and, through the bridge over the Strona, you reach the historic center of Omegna up to the town hall. From the lake along the western shore towards Bagnella along the Via Antonio Gramsci.
At the roundabout take the direction of the church of San Bernardino da Siena, then left towards via Fucine.
After passing the last houses of Bagnella, continue on the path that leads to Brolo.
Cross the provincial road to take via Lavatoio towards the parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate.
Continue until the road turns into a path and descending into the woods you get to the village of Oira, a small and charming village of narrow houses in a valley that opens towards the lake. Oira was famous, until the last century, for the quarries from which the serpentine was extracted that was used in the construction of the Duomo of Milan, the Duomo of Novara, the Certosa of Pavia. This is the material used to sculpt the ambo of the church of San Giulio d'Orta. From the church of San Silvestro we take the direction of Nonio. Once you reach the oratory of the Madonna della Neve, take the path of the Anello Azzurro. In the woods there are numerous remains of terraces up to the village of Ronco superiore. Beautiful church of the Nativity of Maria Santissima. Suggestive the descent towards Ronco Inferiore that is reached after the tiny cemetery. A long paved road, usually deserted, leads to Pella.
