The Oasis has been founded to protect the Italian Pelobates Fuscus (garlic toad), threatened of extinction and its habitat. This little nocturnal amphibian reproduces itself in the local rice fields, it emits a sound like a cry and a substance which smells of garlic when it is in danger.
