The Saint Alexander’s church, formerly depending on the parish church of Sizzano, stands inside the cemetery and, in ancient times was the parish church of the village. It is mentioned for the first time in 1935-36, but the structural analysis of the building brings it back to the XI century. It shows the nave and two aisles. The nave is sheltered with a wooden roof, the aisles, instead, with domed cross-vaults. It ends with three semi-circular apses, the central one is preceded by a barrel-vault. The valuable capitals carved with stylized leaves, rosettes, circles and small heads are worth a mention (north side). The interior is richly decorated: a picture with Madonna del Latte of Tuscan school dating back to the fourteenth century can be admired at the top of a semi-column. Other wall-paintings of the XIV and XV century of local school can be seen alongside the walls and apses. Some original wall-paintings, partially only sketched (sinopia), are visible in the little apse and constitute a rare document of the pictorial technique of that period. On the entrance, under the porch, the remains of a 13th-century Deposition and marks of a 14th-century painting showing a saint. The façade is divided into three sections with double weathering and overhead central body, the entrance has the shape of an arch with a round centre and a double lancet window hidden by the facing tiny porch. Valuable decorations with the shape of crossed rampant archlets border the tympanum and the outer sides. It is well-known that roman graves were found out during the reinforcement works of the south wall. The small Saint Bernard’s oratory stands nearby on the Mora banks. It shows an interesting cycle of 15th century wall-paintings, skilfully restored in the last few years.
