The Church of Saint Lorenzo, Parish church of the ancient hamlet, stands in the village square. It is supposed it was built up late in the XII century, but it is mentioned for the first time in the “Liber Cleri” in 1357, as church depending on the Parish church of Proh-camoidea. It was mentioned again in 1512 and again in 1590 during the visits of the Bishops Speciano and Bescapè in 1597; as far as it is known the building was.. ” …large with ancient shape, it has the nave and two aisles; the cramped, dark sacristy is lacking of all qualifications”. The structure has the nave and two aisles, longitudinal arches supported by rectangular pilasters and façade with salients. The church has undergone many changes and enlargements over the centuries; both apses made in bricks date back to the XV and XVI century like the belfry. The ancient altar was demolished in 1631 and the new sacristy was built up; the high altar was rebuilt in 1757 doing up definitively the presbytery, while the chapel dedicated to the Holy Crucifix is proved to exist already in 1784. Many restoring works followed each another over the last years: the one dating back to 1963 put in evidence the original late-Romanesque structure exalting part of the outer walls made in river pebbles arranged in the shape of the herringbone and alternated with brick courses. Many decorations, differently datable, came out after the last restorations, i.e. after 1992. We can find a series of wall paintings in the right aisle: a Madonna of the Rosary between Saints Dominique and Catherine, dating back to 1591-1597, continues a series of allegories on the Mysteries of the Rosary and part of a larger wall-painting depicting the Holy Trinity of the second half of the XV century. Moreover, two different ornamental sections came out beneath the 19th-century decoration of the right aisle, the former dates back to the XVI century and depicting some saints and a false marble decoration; the latter shows fragments of sacred images of the XV century. Part of an annunciation, the coat of arms of the feudal Caccia family, a Madonna with Child and details of Saints can be seen in the left aisle at the bottom.
